Why do I have to run the Wizard?
Sickness Header records run from the start to the finish of the Sickness period but this does not tell us how many working days the person has been absent. For example, your employee may be part time or they may work on a rota on a ROTA. The Wizard fills in each day the person was actually off The wizard will provide a detailed record of days actually lost through sickness.
Rota or Profile? | |
Most staff will need a working profile. This is designed for people who work the same hours every week, whether this be full or part time. Staff who have a working pattern that is not the same every week will need to be allocated a rota.
From what date is a fit note active?
A fit note is active from the date it is signed. If a fit note is signed in the evening that day is included in the period covered by the fit note.
What is the number in the SR column?
SR stands for Sickness Records. The figure represents the number of absences in the past year.
Why are some SR figures red and some blue?
If the figure is blue this means that all records have been completed and are marked as finished. A red figure means that one or more records have not been marked as finished. A bold red figure means that all records for this person are un-finished.
When I open SAMS I am given a message that the database is read only. Why is this?
You have downloaded the ZIP file containing the program but are running the program from the ZIP file, rather than extracting it to your desktop and then running it. (there are instructions on how to unzip the program , just below the download link)
This person has an odd extra post. Why?
If the staff memberis a hall warden or has an honorarium or some other extraneous duties they may have a post with a notional FTE. This record can be hidden as there is no need to record sickness against it.
The person I am entering data for has a slightly odd working pattern. Can I override the Wizard?
Yes. The wizard will enter the days based on teh working pattern or rota but you may delete, adjust or add days to the Wizard's results.
When I run the Wizard it does not fill in any records.
Does the period of sickness
cover days on which the person does not work? |
|
On start up I get an ODBC error and nothing works.
This is normally due to an incorrect registry setting on you PC. It may say something like windows/system whereas it should be windows/system32 Please contact your Faculty Support and direct them to the following link: Microsoft knowledge base |
